casablanca to marrakech - roundtrip
This is an 8-day trip that begins with us meeting in Casablanca. Whether you’re at the airport, or already settled in your hotel and just looking to see other places, no worries, we’ll find you. Let’s get started!
Day 1
We’re going to whisk you away from the hustle of Casablanca for a change in scenery (and pace), and we’re headed to Essaouira. It’s a personal favorite of ours. People have inhabited this spot since pre-historic times, and it was at one point occupied by the Portuguese. A Muslim saint is buried here. Like most everything else in Morocco, it’s full of history and beauty. Our trip from Casablanca to Essaouira is about five hours, but we stop along the way for the usual breaks and for a visit to the argan cooperative. You will arrive to Essaouira in time for dinner and maybe a nice stroll on the beach.
days 2-3
Good morning! We’ve arranged for you to have a walking tour of the medina. You will meet your guide at the docks and he will show you through the city. It’s been a long, leisurely day hasn’t it? We feel like you’re up for it, so we’re going to leave the easygoing Essaouira behind and head toward the equally beautiful, but not as evenly tempered, Marrakech! You’ll be there in time to get to your lodgings, drop off your things and head out to the infamous Djemaa el-Fna square. Have fun!
Day 4
It’s a good thing you’re well rested from your visit to Essaouira because you’ll need all your senses intact and alert for today. Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will be met by your guide this morning who will take you on a [mostly] walking tour of the city. You will visit Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, a synagogue and then take a break for lunch. Afterward, you will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, take a walk through the Djemaa el-Fna in the daylight and finally, a walk through the souks. We hope you enjoyed your visit to Marrakech. Get some rest, tomorrow we’re off to Fes!
days 5-6
Roadtrip! We’re off to Fes today, via Rabat, Volubilis and Meknes. This is a long journey of about 7 hours, depending on how many stops we make, but we’ll leave that part up to you. You’ll land in your lodging for the night sometime in the evening. Get some rest because tomorrow is going to be a busy day! See here for details: Fes Day Trip.
day 7-8
Good morning! We start early, as this is about a 4 hour journey, depending on traffic, we should have you back to Casablanca for lunch or at least an early dinner. Get some rest, this was quite the whirlwind trip. If you have more time to visit Casablanca, let us know and we can get you around. If you’re headed straight to the airport tomorrow, we can help you with that too. Otherwise, thank you so much for entrusting us with your Moroccan experience. We hope you loved it!
